OT Technical Architect, Permanent Opportunity based in Cork.
You will be responsible for supporting the application and Infrastructure requirements for the Operational Technology estate, ongoing IT-OT support to the National Operations Management Centre (NOMC) and wider user base, and the integration of IT-OT systems and data with the mainstream IT estate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design appropriate system solutions, translating business requirements into IT-OT solutions.
- Working closely with the wider-IT Architects in shaping and delivering the IT-OT systems strategy for the business with actionable plans to reach the to-be state.
- In collaboration with the IT-OT Applications Lead, responsible for defining the operational technology roadmap and the overall enterprise architecture.
- Collaboration with the IT Enterprise Architecture group for technology roadmap and strategy.
- Aligning with the business to ensure the solution design meets business commitments and is future proof, as well as ensuring the business is aligned with good technical integrity and what IT-OT's strategy represents.
- Keep abreast of leading practice and industry standards to encourage adoption of new technological solutions.
- In collaboration with the IT-OT Applications Lead, support the agreement, compilation and maintenance of an application work programme.
- Design a migration path for legacy systems into the National Telemetry System and collaborate with key stakeholders to manage deprecation and decommissioning.
- Understand operational business cycles and external relationships with a view to ensuring the high availability of OT applications to meet operational business requirements.
- Drive compliance with cybersecurity compliance requirements and best practice in line with the Network and Information Systems Directive (e.g: NIST Controls, CIS Hardening, IEC 62443 etc).
- Support the management of the ongoing relationships with wider-IT teams including IT Operations, IT Build & Delivery, IT Strategy, Data & Digital and IT Business Partners.
- Build strong relationships with peer IT-OT leads with the aim of optimising cooperation and maximising efficiencies.
- Assist in the implementation of the Telemetry Strategy as a key contributor for Uisce Éireann IT, Asset Operations and Asset Management through the Telemetry Programme's work streams.
- Participation in On Call Rota and flexibility for out of hours work as required.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an Architectural role in IT or OT is desirable
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
- A minimum of 5 years experience utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
- Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
- Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
- Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
