A leading organisation are seeking a talented Data Protection Consultant to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring data compliance and protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data discovery and mapping exercises to identify and assess data assets.
- Develop and implement effective data protection strategies and policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to evaluate the privacy risks of new projects and initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on data privacy issues to various stakeholders, including business units and technical teams.
- Collaborate with legal, IT, and security teams to ensure data protection compliance and incident response.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving data protection regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance and identify potential risks.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and local data privacy laws.
- Proven experience in data discovery and mapping techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience in conducting DPIAs and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of data protection technologies and tools.
- Strong consulting or business analysis skills to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Certification in data protection or privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is preferred.
