Up, down or flat? The state of salaries.
Permanent salaries and daily rates have both been steadily increasing over the last few years, but given redundancies at the Big 4 banks they are now likely to stay flat or even decrease in 2024.
With more hiring activity happening on the permanent side of the market, a number of contractors have switched to looking for permanent opportunities but have been pushing for higher salaries that better align with their expectations from the contract market.
