Contract Unix Engineer

Job Duties

• Coordinate UNIX projects, including server capacity planning, system configuration, and resilience strategies in APAC data centers.

• Improve latency and reduce system incidents through automation and effective troubleshooting.

• Provide critical support for Linux server platforms, ensuring smooth operations in fast-paced trading environments.

• Address system-related requests and provide direct support to users on trading floors.

• Work collaboratively across teams and may require occasional travel for data center projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or related field, preferably with RHEL certifications.

• Minimum 7 years in IT, with at least 5 years as a UNIX Systems Administrator and 3 years in a multinational IT environment.

• Strong knowledge of Linux/RHEL, system administration, scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl), and IT security tools.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and support teams.

• Experience in investment banking or high-frequency trading environments is preferred, along with fluency in English.
