Operations Director/GM- Europe
An industry-leading automation company is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations across its European sites. Based in Cork, Ireland, this role requires some travel to another site in Ireland and mainland Europe.
About the Role
We're seeking a strategic leader who can drive operational excellence, optimize production capacity, and ensure top-tier quality. You'll work closely with senior management to develop long-term strategies while managing key functions like engineering, supply chain, assembly, and continuous improvement. Budget planning, risk mitigation, and performance optimization will also be key parts of your role.
What We're Looking For
You should have 10-15+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, strong commercial awareness, and a track record of improving efficiency and productivity. Exceptional leadership, change management, and project management skills (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma) are essential. You must be comfortable traveling regularly and leading multi-site operations.

Qualifications and/or experience required:
- 10-15+ years in a senior leadership role in the manufacturing industry.
- Commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of the competitive environment including pricing, quote approval and discounting.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate and retain staff, backed by previous professional success.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively and delegate when appropriate.
- Project management skills and knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, Lean and Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated ability in change management and project management.
- Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Experience in developing budgets and business plans; as well as developing emerging leaders.
