Job Overview:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement processes within the food manufacturing sector, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality materials. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
- Source suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best quality, prices, and delivery terms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, working closely with the Quality Assurance team.
- Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly to mitigate risks and capitalise on cost-saving opportunities.
- Track and report on procurement performance, including cost savings and supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and oversee inventory management.
- Ensure procurement operations align with company sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a relevant field.
- Proven experience in a procurement role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (such as HACCP) and quality standards.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with procurement software and MS Office.

- Previous experience in a small/medium enterprise environment.
