Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Store Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our store, assisting with inventory management, customer service, and maintaining an organized store environment. Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise in the stockroom and sales floor.
- Perform regular stock counts and ensure accurate inventory records.
- Maintain stockroom organization and cleanliness to optimize space and accessibility.
- Assist with processing deliveries, replenishments, and restocking shelves as needed.
Customer Service:
- Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers, addressing inquiries and assisting with product selections.
- Help customers locate items and provide product information to support purchasing decisions.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally, escalating to management as needed.
Sales Floor Support:
- Ensure the sales floor is well-organized, stocked, and visually appealing.
- Participate in promotional displays, in-store signage, and seasonal setups.
- Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor, replenishing products as necessary.
- Assist in cashier duties, including processing transactions and handling returns.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe environment for customers and team members.
- Report any safety hazards, damaged items, or maintenance needs to management.
Store Operations:
- Assist in store opening and closing duties, including setting up displays and ensuring the store is secure.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, contributing to an efficient and positive work environment.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous retail or store operations experience is an asset but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20kg, and move or arrange store fixtures.
