    Location: Cork, Ireland

    Duration: 12 Months Temporary (High potential for permanent extension)

    Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Payroll Specialist to join their well-established EMEIA Payroll Team. This is a 12-month contract with a very strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent role for the right candidate.

    In this pivotal regional role, you will be the heartbeat of the European payroll operation. You won't just be crunching numbers; you'll be the bridge between internal HR, Finance, and various third-party payroll providers across multiple European jurisdictions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage Irish payroll cycles along with supporting various European payrolls ensuring all local providers have accurate data and that local authorities (pension, insurance, etc.) are kept updated.
    • Centralise and audit all payroll-specific data, including employee lifecycle changes, one-off payments, and compensation/benefit figures.
    • Partner with Finance for monthly closures and HR for integrity checks on new hires, terminations, and transfers.
    • Manage the Europe Payroll Mailbox, resolving queries regarding PTO, tax, banking, and retroactive pay calculations.
    • Stay ahead of local labour law changes and national bargaining agreements by liaising with local providers.
    • Oversee T&A tracking for required countries, ensuring manual data is accurately reflected in the final payroll run.

    Key Requirements

    • Relevant Payroll Qualification is a distinct advantage
    • Proven experience in managing Irish payroll role essential.
    • Ability to support payrolls for multiple European countries is desired.
    • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with Workday and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • A University Degree (Accounting or Finance focus is preferred).
    • A laser focus on accuracy and the ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
    • Fluent English with the ability to explain complex payroll issues to non-experts.
    • You should be a structured thinker who can handle high-pressure deadlines without losing your positive attitude.
