A leading FMCG organisation is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Category Development Manager to drive category growth and strengthen customer partnerships within it's food based category. The role focuses on delivering actionable insights, managing data and partnering across markets to support category growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver monthly category performance reports and actionable insights to inform commercial strategies.
Build strong relationships with customer category and insights teams, leading performance reviews and sharing competitor analysis.
Manage external data and insights vendors, ensuring high-quality support for the business.
Lead range reviews, developing a clear category vision aligned to market trends and customer joint business plans.
Support team capability building through reporting, training, and sharing best practices across local and international teams.
Key Requirements:
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for various audiences.
Solid understanding of the consumer goods industry, customer landscape, and category management best practices.
Advanced analytical skills, proficient in Excel and planning software (e.g., Spaceman).
Project management expertise and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Comfortable reaching out to colleagues across different markets to gather insights, share learnings, and identify emerging category trends.
