Job Purpose
Our client has developed an ambitious Business Strategy to respond to the unprecedented level of change and opportunity in the electricity industry, aligned with the Government's policies including its Climate Action Plan. Their purpose is to transform the Power System for Future Generations and our primary goal is to collaborate with the Island's Electricity Sector on Sustainability and Decarbonisation.
This role will be responsible for visioning the developing a delivery plan Market and power system design, requirements and Planning.
The role holder will lead the programme of visioning the power system of the future to achieve Government's Ambition of net zero carbon by 2050, the possible scenarios to deliver on this ambition, and the technological capabilities that our client will require to safely and securely operate the transmission system in this new paradigm and a market system that efficiently meets all EU and National Regulatory design requirements.
The role holder will establish a centre for excellence in modelling and business data management and will be responsible for developing the future thought leaders for evolving the operation of the power system, developing offshore Grids, innovation solutions, market development.
The role holder will source, develop, maintain and provide the business experts to the Director of Strategic Programs to ensure the delivery of the strategic programme. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of projects concepts and Business Case for the transformation of the market and the future operation of the transmission system.
The role holder will be responsible for the quality assurance on products and projects delivery for the Strategic Program delivery arm of CTTO.
The role holder will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify strategic opportunities for collaboration and innovation. The role holder will exemplify and role model the values and leadership behaviours expected of a senior leader in the organisation and lead the process of cultural transformation.
The role holder will develop the appropriate strategies, policies, processes and detailed planning to implement the vision and to transform the technological infrastructure of the power system, market and corporate IT environment of the Group, driving innovation and digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the programme of visioning the power system of the future to achieve Government's Ambition of net zero carbon by 2050, the possible scenarios to deliver on this ambition, and the technological capabilities that our client will require to safely and securely operate the transmission system in this new paradigm and a market system that efficiently meets all EU and National Regulatory design requirements.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify strategic opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Manage the CIPO vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure value delivery and alignment with business objectives.
* Lead and motivate a high performing team to deliver the strategic objectives of the company and create an engaged and motivated workforce. Exemplify and role model the values and leadership behaviours expected of a senior leader in the organisation and lead the process of cultural transformation.
* Building and maintaining the capability and capacity to deliver on our client's commitments in the CIPO directorate to achieve a power system capable of operating at 100% RES-E and delivering the Government's Ambition as set out in the climate action plan and a net zero carbon by 2050.
* Successful delivery of business change requirements within defined timelines and budgets.
Outstanding leadership capability and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. Change oriented and able to effectively challenge the status quo, while bringing stakeholders and team members on the change journey.
* Excellent communication and engagement skills. Ability to translate complex issues for executive leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to build effective internal and external partnerships.
