This role provides Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) technical support across the supply chain for Distribution & Export hubs in Dublin. The key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, quality management systems, and industry standards (e.g., FSSC 22000) while safeguarding food products during storage, assembly, and distribution.
Please note Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday.
Tues to Fri is 9-5 (this is flexible) but two of those days should be 9-hour days to make up for Saturday hours. You can decide yourself when to do the longer days mid-week. Saturday is 7am - 1pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety & Quality Management:
- Maintain and oversee FSQ Management Systems to meet regulatory requirements and standards.
- Ensure food safety is upheld across site during storage and distribution.
- Lead the on-site HACCP team, conduct audits, issue reports, and implement improvement plans
Export Compliance & Certification:
- Support the Export Hub operations by maintaining FSQ systems and ensuring compliance with DAFM licensing requirements.
- Prepare for and coordinate regulatory, certification, and customer audits (e.g., DAFM, FSSC 22000).
Training & Performance Monitoring:
- Develop and deliver food safety training for new employees.
- Monitor and report FSQ performance against key metrics (KPIs).
Product Quality & Supplier Management:
- Conduct product testing and auditing for goods receiving and dispatch.
- Assess packaged Own Brand products against specifications.
- Ensure adherence to pre-requisite programs, including calibration, pest control, Glass & Perspex audits, and temperature documentation.
- Address supplier non-conformances, retailer claims, and product returns.
- Manage and resolve Retailer FSQ queries efficiently.
Accreditation & Compliance Initiatives:
- Support FSSC 22000 accreditation across chill and ambient depots, including TACCP, internal audits, and traceability exercises.
Project Work:
- Collaborate with the FSQ Coordinator on initiatives to drive food safety culture and improvements within the business.
- Act as a FSQ representative, influencing business practices to enhance food safety compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Science/Food Science (Essential)
- Technical Quality experience in food safety
- Knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety Management Systems
- Experience with GFSI-recognized standards (e.g., BRC, FSSC 22000)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
- Adaptable and proactive approach to FSQ challenges
