The Warehouse & Logistics Director will need to be commercially driven and be able to lead and manage their 18,000 square foot warehouse. This role is a unique opportunity to oversee operations while driving profitability by positioning the warehouse as a profit centre within the business. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, team leadership, and a strong focus on commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the 18,000 square foot warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Commercial Strategy and Profitability
- Establish and execute a commercial strategy to transform the warehouse into a profit centre.
- Monitor and analyse key financial metrics, including cost control, revenue generation, and profitability targets.
- Identify and develop opportunities for new revenue streams, such as value-added services or partnerships.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Manage all logistics, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
- Develop relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and timely operations.
- Utilise data to forecast inventory needs and optimize storage capacity.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of warehouse staff to maintain high performance and morale.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of warehouse employees.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Technology and Systems
- Oversee the implementation and use of warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations.
- Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and drive efficiencies.
Key Requirements
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing a warehouse of similar size (25,000 sq ft) or larger.
- Proven track record of managing a warehouse as a profit centre or with a focus on commercial outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), are advantageous.
