This client, for over 20 years have provided cutting edge, smart, reliable and ever-evolving software for the Irish retail, convenience and forecourt market.
In this role you will specialise in End of Point Solutions (EOPS) for retail and service station forecourts across Ireland. This role is pivotal in delivering and maintaining cutting-edge solutions that keep thier clients operational and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:
Site Surveys & Installations:
- Conduct pre-installation site surveys to provide accurate quotations and mitigate potential installation challenges.
Hardware & Network Support:
- Install and troubleshoot Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems, drilling counters, running cables, and integrating various devices (fuel pumps, tank gauges, car wash machines, credit card pin-pads, etc.).
- Upgrade and troubleshoot devices running Linux-embedded operating systems.
- Terminate Ethernet sockets, trace faulty network connections, and install Wi-Fi access points for handheld devices.
System Migrations & Upgrades:
- Install new PCs and migrate critical applications (e.g., payroll, email, firewalls).
- Upgrade third-party chip-and-pin software, ensuring uninterrupted trading for busy sites.
Maintenance & Cloud Solutions:
- Manage and maintain cloud backup solutions for clients.
- Ensure the smooth operation of integrated third-party devices and systems.
Technical Expertise:
- Work confidently across all Microsoft operating systems (Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, 11).
- Use Python scripting for log file analysis.
Procurement & Support:
- Responsible for ordering POS hardware and components.
- Provide ongoing technical support and training to ensure smooth client operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in field engineering, ideally within retail or service station environments.
- Strong technical skills, particularly in Linux systems, networking, and hardware integration.
- Comfortable with nationwide travel, overnight stays, and flexible working hours (including weekends).
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver's license is essential.
