Join the Tokyo Team providing IT solutions, infrastructure support, and application services in a dynamic financial environment, ensuring seamless operations.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Provide IT service support to the Tokyo branch in rotating shifts (7:30 AM-6:30 PM).
- Assist with global application support for Equities, Structured Products, Fixed Income, Futures, and Asia-Pacific critical apps.
- Collaborate with global teams on technology and infrastructure project planning, execution, and testing.
- Address and manage helpdesk requests, ensuring timely responses and appropriate follow-ups.
- Handle IT incidents, outages, user requests, and service desk operations effectively.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, servers, hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and firmware.
- Administer and resolve End User Service requests and maintain high-availability IT infrastructure at Japan sites.
- Coordinate the rollout of system enhancements, including testing, piloting, and deployment of applications and infrastructure.
- Assist the IT Manager in ensuring compliance with IT standards, including change, incident, problem management and JFSA requests.
- Support risk and control activities by adhering to global policies, gathering security control information, and addressing audit requirements.
Required skills
- Over 5 years of experience in the Investment Banking or Banking industry.
- 7+ years supporting Windows desktops and 3+ years managing IT infrastructure (e.g., Wintel/Unix servers, networks, voice, middleware).
- Proficient in supporting sales and trading systems, both internally and externally, with exposure to data centers, telecom, and internet technologies.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and best practices for incident, change, and problem management.
- Skilled in Windows desktop/server support, network troubleshooting, and disaster recovery/BCP; familiarity with voice systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a focus on quality and user satisfaction.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with users face-to-face and over the phone.
Preferred skills
- ITIL Foundation, CCNA Network, and/or MCP Microsoft Certification(s).
- Solid understanding of computer room design, structured cabling, and client-service platforms, both front-end and back-end.
- Familiarity with Financial and Investment Banking operations and business processes.
- Basic project management skills with knowledge of project life cycles.
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a demonstrated interest in emerging technology trends.
