Join a leading European corporate and investment bank as a Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, AML/CFT policies, and compliance best practices for the company and its Tokyo Branch. In this critical role, you will provide compliance advisory, oversee regulatory filings, conduct training, and support inspections to maintain a strong compliance culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Advisory & Support: Provide daily regulatory guidance to executives and employees to foster a compliance-driven culture.
- Training & Regulatory Updates: Conduct compliance training, maintain training records, and update internal rules in line with Japanese regulations.
- Regulatory Filings & Reporting: Manage and submit regulatory filings to financial authorities and contribute to compliance reporting tools.
- Regulatory Inspections & Remediation: Assist in regulatory inspections, address compliance issues, and implement corrective actions.
- AML/CFT Compliance: Respond to AML/CFT-related inquiries and coordinate compliance projects with APAC Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) teams.
- Administrative Compliance Tasks: Oversee compliance-related administrative duties, such as personal account dealing statements and invoice processing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of Japanese regulatory frameworks and AML/CFT requirements.
Soft Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese (Native) and English (Fluent) for effective regulatory communication.
- Proactive and adaptable mindset to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Strong personal integrity with a commitment to compliance excellence.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience handling regulatory inspections and compliance training within investment banking or financial crime compliance.
- Familiarity with structured finance, capital markets, and asset management regulations.
