A global e-commerce leader is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with both US and Japan GAAP, and lead a team of accounting professionals. You'll be at the forefront of managing financial reporting, tax compliance, and SOX controls, while working closely with global finance teams and helping shape internal policies in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and annual financial closings, tax calculations, and reporting
- Manage a team of 6-10 staff, including performance coaching and training
- Conduct account reconciliations and prepare key financial statements
- Collaborate with global teams to address cross-border accounting/tax matters
- Ensure adherence to SOX compliance, internal controls, and regulatory standards
- Support internal and external audits, including documentation and reporting
- Develop and update internal accounting policies and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in accounting and tax
- 3+ years of experience managing teams of 5 or more
- Strong background in US GAAP, Japan GAAP, and tax compliance
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SAP FI/CO, with strong reporting and reconciliation abilities
- Experience with deferred tax, reserves, and financial accruals
Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented, with high integrity and accountability
- Strong leadership with a proactive and adaptable mindset
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Business-level (written and verbal)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- US CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience building or optimizing SOX controls and accounting frameworks
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff across functional areas
