Our client, a highly regarded and well-established accountancy firm based in Cork City, is looking to add an experienced Audit Manager. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work alongside a collaborative team of managers, seniors, and other departments. You'll gain broad exposure across audit, accounting, and tax return preparation, while developing strong client relationships and supporting internal growth.
About the role
As Audit Manager, you'll work closely with Partners to oversee client portfolios, lead audit engagements, and manage staff. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a primary point of contact for clients-responding to queries, anticipating needs, and maintaining regular communication to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Managing a portfolio of audit clients, including billing, cash collection, and workflow oversight.
- Planning and organizing audit assignments to ensure efficient resource allocation and staff development.
- Supporting the development and implementation of internal procedures and best practices.
- Leading, mentoring, and training junior staff both on the job and through formal training sessions.
- Conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and contributing to staff development and motivation.
- Assisting with recruitment and team growth as needed.
Requirements
- Professionally qualified (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), with a relevant degree.
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in audit or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles.
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- A team-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to progress professionally over time.
