The Role
As a Mechanical Build Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly and build of automated equipment used in the manufacture of life-saving medical devices. This hands-on position involves working on bespoke machines across various stages, including design, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Assemble precision mechanical components and systems to a high standard.
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and validating of mechanical assemblies.
- Assist with key project milestones, including setup tasks, quality checks, and commissioning.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are assembled as intended.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
What You Need
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualification in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a relevant mechanical discipline (Level 6 or equivalent experience).
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally working with automated equipment or precision assemblies.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong mechanical assembly skills with attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective time management and organisational skills to meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with the ability to work in a team.
