The Sr. Director of Digital Development is a seasoned software development leader with extensive operational experience in commercializing software products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate Team Excellence: Foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement; provide growth and development opportunities.
- User Experience (UX): Ensure a seamless user experience (UX) across all our products, leveraging the expertise of UX designers to make our solutions intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.
- Partnerships: Partner with clients Portfolio Director, Product Director, and Data Science Director to ensure the timely and successful delivery of clients solutions according to customer needs and business objectives.
- Agile/Scrum Methodology: Lead and operate the team following Agile principles and Scrum practices to enhance productivity and delivery.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring strategic resource allocation.
- Adopt Best Practices: Drive the adoption of industry best practices and new technologies to keep our digital capabilities at the cutting edge.
- Continuous Learning: Proactively and independently learns and utilizes new technology, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to project requirements. Maintains current knowledge of industry technology trends.
- Knowledge Sharing: Capture, document, and communicate best practices within McKesson software departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years in software development, with a focus on commercializing software products.
- 5+ years as a people leader managing software teams.
- Proven experience in integrating traditional machine learning or generative AI technologies into software products.
- 5+ years in large, cross-functional teams, effectively influencing senior management and stakeholders.
- Highly adaptable communicator, capable of relating to leaders and individual contributors at all levels.
- Experience in agile and virtual team environments, specifically using Scrum.
- Passion for developing others and recognizing achievements.
- Experience with UX principles and processes preferred.
- Experience in software engineering and/or software architecture preferred.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and generative AI technologies.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or related field.
