Senior Maintenance Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative organisation dedicated to improving global health. This role reports directly to the Associate Director of Engineering Operations & Compliance and is pivotal in driving exceptional equipment performance to support critical production goals.
The Senior Maintenance Engineer will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians and contractors, shaping the maintenance strategy to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with organisational goals, ensuring the reliability and availability of equipment and facilities.
- Provide leadership to maintenance teams, fostering collaboration, excellence, and professional growth. Offer coaching, training, and development opportunities while delivering constructive feedback.
- Manage maintenance infrastructure and oversee system performance. Develop preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs to optimise equipment operation and minimise downtime.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs related to equipment breakdowns, calibrations, and preventative maintenance, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA and GMP standards, maintaining thorough documentation for audits and inspections.
- Oversee maintenance budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Promote a strong safety culture within engineering and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address root cause issues and improve machine performance.
- Lead the development and implementation of preventive maintenance methods to enhance equipment reliability and maximise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Work collaboratively across manufacturing sites to harmonise and share best practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:
- Degree-qualified with extensive experience in maintenance management.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or biotechnology operations within a GMP-regulated environment.
- Strong technical expertise in equipment reliability engineering.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience in managing and implementing maintenance management systems.
