We have a very exciting opportunity for a strong Accounts Payable Manager with one of Ireland largest distribution chains based in Dublin West.
The Accounts Payable Manager will lead all aspects of the accounts payable function, ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processing of payments and invoices. This role requires a proactive and innovative leader who can identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and champion change to elevate overall department performance.
Salary DOE: €60,000 - €65,000
- Hybrid 3 days in office p/w
- Bonus, pension, VHI, profit share
- Flex starting time, option for early Friday finish
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Manage and develop a team of c. 15-21 accounts payable professionals, providing guidance, mentorship and performance feedback.
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payments and vendor management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop & maintain KPI's to measure and report on performance of the accounts payable function.
- Resolve complex accounts payable issues and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.
Process Improvements
- Analyse current AP processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline accounts payable operations.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to optimize invoice processing and payment workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accounts payable processes with other financial and operational systems.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes and adjust as required
Change Management
- Lead the implementation of new processes and systems within the accounts payable department.
- Develop and execute change management plans to ensure a smooth transition.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in and support for process improvements and changes.
- Provide training & support to the team to ensure successful adaptation of new processes and systems.
- Integrate newly acquired companies' accounts payable systems and processes to ensure seamless operations.
Person Specification & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc) and ERP systems, with experience optimizing these tools.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
