An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a top-tier legal firm as a Payroll Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the chance to manage payroll for over 800 employees, working closely with HR, Accounts, and an outsourced payroll provider to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.
The Role
As Payroll Specialist, you will take full ownership of the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the monthly payroll process for over 800 employees.
- Manage payroll amendments for new joiners, leavers, overtime, deductions, and benefits.
- Collaborate with an outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely and precise processing.
- Generate and review monthly payroll reports to verify data integrity.
- Handle payroll-related queries efficiently and provide timely resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Work closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee data.
- Process deductions/payments for healthcare, pensions, travel pass, and other benefits.
- Assist with payroll audits and maintain necessary documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required:
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar payroll role.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing.
- Experience managing payroll for a large workforce.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and HRIS systems.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Effective problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and tax compliance.
Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Technician (IPASS) or Diploma in Payroll Management preferred.
