Scala Developer

New role for a Scala Developer to contribute to a strategic project. You'll work closely with business analysts and solution architects to define and implement technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business analysts to define and refine solution requirements.
- Develop and maintain components of our regulatory reporting application.
- Aggregate and process large datasets efficiently.
- Adhere to best practices and contribute to a high-quality codebase.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies to advance the platform.
- Participate in agile planning and prioritization sessions.
- Provide day-to-day support for the platform, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong proficiency in Scala (3+ years)
- Solid software development experience (5+ years)
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases
- Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of MongoDB, Cassandra, or MS SQL Server
- Functional programming experience
- Experience with Scala streaming libraries (Akka Streams, ZIO, fs2)
- Proficiency in Jenkins and Ansible
- Cross-functional collaboration with teams in different time zones
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket)
- Background in regulatory reporting or capital markets
