Are you an experienced programme manager with a passion for sustainability and strategic change? Join a high-performing team as a Sustainability Programme Manager, where you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of a multi-year sustainability strategy for a leading organisation.
Role Overview: As the Sustainability Programme Manager, you'll work within the Strategy & Sustainability Team, contributing to a mission of setting industry-leading standards in sustainability and decarbonisation. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Sustainability, you will drive the development and implementation of a group-wide Sustainability Strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the Sustainability Strategy, aligning it with broader business strategies and annual reporting.
- Lead the sustainability communications programme, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion the integration of sustainability into organisational culture and decision-making processes.
- Manage projects related to external sustainability reporting, compliance, and carbon footprint assessment.
- Lead improvement initiatives, focusing on identifying gaps, opportunities, and industry best practices.
- Develop performance reports and metrics for executive leadership, highlighting key strategic issues and solutions.
- Represent the organisation at relevant external forums and events to showcase sustainability efforts and insights.
- Research emerging sustainability trends and legislation to inform organisational strategy.
Candidate Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in programme and project management, with a track record of delivering large-scale projects.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with attention to detail and business acumen.
- Knowledge of sustainability strategy, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
- Proficient in stakeholder management, with an ability to influence, build credibility, and engage senior stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- Relevant degree or master's qualification; familiarity with the electricity sector is advantageous but not essential.
