A well-known global insurance firm with a strong presence throughout the Asia region is seeking a dynamic Manager for Product Development in the realm of General Insurance products, encompassing both the medical and non-medical sectors.
About the role
In this role, you will be managing a small team, play a pivotal part in crafting and refining a diverse range of insurance offerings, utilising various distribution channels, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of innovative, quality products align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the department head to design and enhance general insurance products across medical and non-medical categories.
- Oversee the product development, implementation, and approval processes, working with various departments including actuarial, operations, legal, and marketing.
- Create presentation materials, product specifications, and launch packs while evaluating risks and ensuring compliance.
- Coordinate the delivery of product materials and conduct product briefings prior to launch.
- Analyse and monitor the performance and competitiveness of existing and newly launched products.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis regularly.
- Assist in preparing recommendations to management based on product performance and market trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields,
- At least 5 years of experience in insurance product development and implementation.
- Preference for IIQAS, ACII, ANZIIF designations, or related professional/insurance status.
- Solid understanding of general insurance products, especially digital insurance products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytic, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with sales, marketing, underwriting, and claims processes in the insurance industry.
- Self-motivated, organised, service-oriented, and a strong team player with a sense of responsibility.
- Experience in drafting policy provisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
