Morgan McKinley are delighted to partner exclusively with a large transport solutions provider based in Co. Meath as they seek to hire a new Fleet Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a key role within their organisation that contains a fleet of over 100 vehicles. The primary function of the role will be to manage the maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation for both customers and staff.
Experience within the transport industry will be essential as understanding the nuances of the industry will be key to being successful in the role.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the fleet is serviced and maintained according to the scheduled timetable (e.g., CVRT testing, calibrations, etc.).
- Monitor facility and vehicle maintenance records to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Verify that all documentation related to facility and vehicle maintenance is accurately completed and recorded.
- Ensure management and maintenance records for the company's IT platforms are up to date.
- Maintain up-to-date contact information for fleet breakdown assistance and support, coordinating with the Transport Team as needed.
- Communicate with suppliers and partners to identify, document, and log potential faults.
- Prepare and submit reports for internal management and customers/clients.
- Oversee the daily operations of the vehicle workshop, managing both in-house services and third-party maintenance.
- Assign tasks to mechanics/technicians and maintain daily job sheets.
- Source parts, generate purchase orders, and manage inventory allocation.
- Demonstrate strong work ethics, including punctuality, professionalism, accountability, and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Industry experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment is an advantage.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong IT, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- C+E license holders preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in transport operations (e.g., fridge trailers) and possession of a C+E driving license are advantageous.
- Adaptability to take on varied tasks as needed and flexibility to work extended shifts when required.
