About the Role
This is a strategic leadership position overseeing both on-premise and cloud infrastructure environments. You will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of reliable, secure, and scalable IT services - ensuring alignment with organisational goals and sector best practices.
We're looking for someone who can think big, lead confidently, and bring technical expertise - particularly in AWS, Azure and VMware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of technical experts across infrastructure, cloud services, and operations.
- Drive the cloud strategy and oversee the transition to hybrid/cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure).
- Manage enterprise IT infrastructure, including data centres, virtualisation platforms, networks, and storage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure infrastructure services meet teaching, research, and operational needs.
Oversee performance monitoring, capacity planning, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with procurement, governance, and SLA frameworks.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and lead innovation in infrastructure delivery.
