A global leader in e-commerce and internet services is looking for a DevOps Engineer to improve reliability, automation, and deployment performance for high-traffic advertising platforms used by millions of users daily. This role is ideal for a hands-on DevOps professional who enjoys owning production stability end-to-end, strengthening observability, and working in a collaborative, international engineering environment across cloud-hybrid systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end reliability across development, releases, monitoring, and production operations
- Design and implement automation to reduce manual operational work and improve deployment speed
- Continuously optimize system performance, stability, and availability for large-scale services
- Act as a service owner by proactively responding to incidents and managing operational risks
- Introduce new tools and technologies to improve engineering workflows and system resilience
- Collaborate closely with global teams across engineering, product, security, and QA
- Strengthen observability through improved monitoring, alerting, metrics, and operational best practices
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience supporting large-scale, high-traffic systems
- Strong expertise in Linux environments and advanced command-line operations
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git-based workflows)
- Practical experience with automation and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
- Experience managing hybrid environments (cloud and on-premise)
- Strong scripting ability (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, middleware, and applications
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices
Soft Skills:
- Ability to provide off-hours support when critical business issues arise
- Strong ownership mindset with proactive problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with distributed, cross-functional global teams
Language Requirements:
- English: Business-level proficiency for daily professional communication
- Japanese: Not required (basic level acceptable)
