A globally recognized biotech company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead its Japan HR operations. As a key strategic partner to the business, you will drive people strategy, shape organizational culture, and oversee talent management initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner, advising leadership on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational strategy
- Lead, mentor, and scale the HR team to support business growth and cultural alignment
- Design and execute strategies for talent acquisition, employee retention, and succession planning
- Champion employee engagement and foster an inclusive, values-driven culture
- Manage complex employee relations issues while ensuring legal compliance and policy adherence
- Align local HR initiatives with global and regional strategies through cross-functional collaboration
- Oversee performance management cycles and coach managers on driving team performance
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of HR experience with both strategic HRBP and operational HR exposure
- Proven leadership in managing and developing HR teams
- Strong track record in organizational development and talent strategy
- Deep understanding of Japanese labor laws and compliance practices
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, scaling organization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience working in global or APAC regional HR roles
- Previous experience in healthcare, biotech, or life sciences industries is a plus
