Seeking a dynamic Legal Counsel to join a leading global telecommunications company, providing legal support across Asia and the U.S.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, particularly for network and IT services.
- Provide high-quality legal support for business units in Asia and the U.S.
- Collaborate with global legal teams and act as a key stakeholder for the Asian business.
- Manage relationships with external counsel to address complex legal matters.
- Develop and implement group policies, ensuring compliance in Asia.
- Offer creative, proactive legal solutions on a wide range of issues, including cross-border
- transactions.
- Advise internal teams on regulatory, commercial, and strategic legal matters.
Required skills
- Bar admission in Japan, the U.S., or another jurisdiction.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, including contract drafting and interpretation.
- Experience managing cross-border transactions and complex legal issues.
Preferred skills
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance legal, financial, and operational considerations.
- Experience in a multinational law firm or corporate legal department, preferably in Asia or the U.S.
- Additional language skills in Chinese or Korean would be an advantage.
