Settlement Manager Tokyo - FX & Derivatives Operations Lead

Join a globally recognized financial institution as a Settlement Manager and take ownership of FX, money market, and derivatives settlements. This strategic role ensures smooth front-to-back coordination across functions and focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and compliance in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily settlement operations for FX, money market, and derivatives products.
• Lead implementation of new products and ensure end-to-end coordination across clients, front office, and back office.
• Support team leads in ensuring timely and accurate execution of operational processes.
• Liaise with internal departments, external stakeholders, and overseas offices to resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and enforce strong internal controls.
• Conduct periodic reviews to drive cost efficiency, process improvements, and service quality enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in securities operations, including trade support, settlements, client services, or operational efficiency.

Certifications:

• JSDA qualification or Internal Control Manager (内部管理者) certification required.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, basic formulas).

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Clear and professional communication in both English and Japanese.

Language Requirements

• Japanese: Fluent
• English: Intermediate to Business level

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in process optimization, cost control, and change management.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-border environment.
