Job Opportunity: Accounts Payable Team Leader
Location: Hybrid/Remote
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: up to £35,000 pa
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to oversee and manage a small accounts payable team. You will ensure the accurate processing of invoices, manage payment workflows, and maintain strong vendor relationships. This role combines leadership, process improvement, and hands-on accounts payable responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices.
- Resolve discrepancies, manage payment processes, and maintain compliance with policies.
- Identify and implement improvements, including automation opportunities.
- Generate reports and provide updates to management on team performance.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong accounting knowledge and familiarity with finance systems (Sage experience desirable).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
