Morgan McKinley Tokyo 20th Anniversary: A Celebration of Legacy and Commitment

“You have entrusted us with your most precious resource- your people. You have allowed us to stand beside you through your journeys of growth, transformation, and success. You have challenged us, believed in us, and, in doing so, helped shape the very foundations of our own firm. Without you- we’d likely all be stuck at our local bar Kamikaze in Kamiyacho!”
- Lionel Kaidatzis, Managing Director, Morgan McKinley Japan

Not just a ‘foreign player’- 20 years of deep roots in Tokyo
Two decades ago, Morgan McKinley arrived in Tokyo with a small team and big ambitions. Today, we stand as a trusted partner in Japan’s business community, shaping careers and driving success for our clients. Despite being a well-known brand in Ireland and the UK, we’ve had to work harder to build our identity in Tokyo. The truth is, we are not outsiders, we are part of the market, embedded in its culture, and committed to its future.
A night to remember
On Thursday, 6th February 2025, we came together to celebrate this journey at The Executive Centre in JP Tower Marunouchi. More than 100 guests, including clients, colleagues, and global leaders, joined us for an evening of reflection, appreciation, and excitement for the road ahead. The atmosphere was electric-jazz music, heartfelt speeches, and the unmistakable energy of a company that has built something special in Tokyo.
The people who made it happen
“Over the past 20 years, our business in Japan has continuously strengthened its brand, reputation, and track record. We have now reached a point where we can confidently say that we are a market leader in the markets and the disciplines in which we operate. Personally, it has been a pleasure to watch the team on this journey. Whilst there have been many challenges along the way, the team has always expertly navigated these, and we are now in the position to invest in our business to take it to yet another level.”
- Andrew Evans, APAC COO, Morgan McKinley
From the Tokyo office, 60 of our employees attended alongside six of our global executives, including Chairman Pat Fitzgerald, Global CEO Seb O’Connell, and APAC COO Andrew Evans. More than 80 external guests from the business community joined us, creating a space where past, present, and future came together to honour two decades of success.
