We partnered with PTSB, a provider of personal financial services headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. The bank has made enormous recent progress with greater scale and diversification, an enhanced digital offering, a larger branch network, a bigger team of highly skilled and committed colleagues, and many more customers than before.

The Assignment

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) was a newly created role within PTSB, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer to aid the bank’s ambition to become Ireland’s best personal and business bank. The successful candidate would be the accountable head of cyber security and for broader IT risk governance at the bank. This was a truly unique opportunity to take up an end-to-end CISO role in an organisation of scale. The Chief Information Security Officer would take on a leadership role in the cyber and information security agenda across the bank. Working with other senior leaders in group technology and group risk, they would set out a clear cyber strategy for the bank. The CISO would hold 1st line accountability for overseeing the effective execution of all IT security, risk, and control processes throughout group technology. They would also act in an advisory role across all functions of the bank concerning IT and cyber risk and how best to consider this risk in all aspects of operations, change, and transformation agendas.
