Job Title: Ruminant Business Manager
Location: Cork, Ireland
Travel Requirements: Regular travel within Munster
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Ruminant Business Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining sales with a portfolio of key customers.
The Business Manager serves as the primary link between the company and our farmer customers, ensuring excellent day-to-day relationships and providing solutions that meet their diverse needs. This includes managing the direct sale of products, offering technical support, communicating new services, and promoting various schemes.
Additionally, the role involves overseeing account management activities for the farmers in the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with a portfolio of farmers to understand their ongoing feed, fertiliser, veterinary, dairy hygiene, and other agricultural needs.
- Respond to technical queries and seek input from specialists as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve farm profitability, sustainability, and milk quality.
- Communicate the results of forage and soil analysis, including nutrient management plans, to farmers.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate farm data on the CRM system, including details on milk supply, sales, opportunities, and complaints.
- Process orders for products such as feed, fertiliser, veterinary supplies, and ensure timely delivery in line with agreed SLAs.
- Contribute to the development of new products and services by providing feedback to technical and marketing teams.
- Execute field marketing and promotional campaigns, communicating new offers to farmers./
- Manage the monthly cash collection process for your portfolio.
- Promote adoption of the company's schemes by explaining the details and resolving any queries.
- Participate in regional representative structures and collaborate with local branch managers to ensure the provision of optimal services.
- Represent the company at customer-facing and farmer events, promoting the brand and services.
Key Requirements:
- A background in Agricultural Science is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate resilience in a competitive market.
- Strong knowledge of animal health and technical aspects across various categories.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office and SAP, with the ability to learn other systems.
- Proven experience in sales and customer service, particularly within the agricultural sector.
- Strong knowledge of the local agricultural market.
- Ability to execute commercial plans and meet targets effectively.
