The Product Development Manager will play a critical role within the Products, Strategy, and Marketing Team, focusing on developing and enhancing both new and existing products, policy initiatives, and measures. The position involves sourcing funding and guarantees to support these initiatives and managing key relationships with government stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and tailor product solutions to address identified market gaps, with a primary focus on the SME credit market in Ireland and potential expansion into other areas where the organisation can address credit challenges.
- Collaborate with market participants to create product strategies that align with the organisation's strategic objectives and government policies.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of new product development, from concept to implementation, working closely with Lending, Risk, Governance, and Operations Teams to ensure seamless delivery. This includes managing cost, pricing, design, and implementation aspects for new financial instruments.
- Structure and negotiate facilities, transactions, and product agreements with funders and guarantors.
- Maintain strong relationships with government departments and ensure the highest levels of service and responsiveness.
- Ensure all products meet regulatory and compliance requirements, including adherence to state aid rules.
- Support the Head of Products, Strategy, and Marketing in coordinating with key stakeholders for the development of new products and policy measures.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement, including research and consultation, during the product development phase.
- Provide input for both preliminary and follow-up analysis of the products delivered.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 7-10 years of experience in a relevant field such as product development, proposition development, or corporate banking. Experience in investment structuring, securitisation, and financial risk/price modeling is a plus.
- Proven expertise in managing complex product development initiatives and leading cross-functional teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and the business lending landscape.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Advanced presentation and report-writing capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
- Experience working with government or public institutions is advantageous.
- High proficiency in numeracy, financial analysis, and attention to detail.
- Track record of achieving results, taking initiative, and assuming leadership responsibilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
