Join a global leader in pharmaceuticals as a Data Center Manager, ensuring the security, scalability, and operational excellence of IT infrastructure across Japan. This role involves managing critical data center operations, collaborating with global IT teams, and driving compliance, efficiency, and innovation in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Data Center Operations: Maintain uptime, performance, and daily management of IT infrastructure, including power supply, UPS, air conditioning, security, and alarm systems.
- IT Equipment & Facility Management: Supervise procurement, installation, and configuration of IT equipment (servers, storage, networking) and collaborate with facilities teams for infrastructure support.
- Access & Inventory Control: Manage access rights, track inventory, and ensure smooth data center operations.
- Contract & Vendor Management: Oversee service contracts, vendor relationships, and cost-effective, compliant operations.
- Policy, Compliance & Audits: Develop and implement security, disaster recovery, and maintenance policies, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Liaison & User Support: Act as the primary liaison between IT infrastructure and OT users, aligning services with business needs and global IT strategies.
- Global Collaboration & Projects: Coordinate with global IT teams, participate in global meetings, and contribute to mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data center management or IT infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of servers, storage, networking, power, and electrical systems.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in highly regulated industries.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Language Proficiency:
- Japanese: Business-level fluency.
- English: Business-level fluency.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or CDCS (Certified Data Center Specialist).
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA systems for OT environments.
