Role Overview:
The Retail Director for South East Asia and Australia will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of their retail network in these key markets. This role will focus on enhancing the customer experience, driving sales, and ensuring operational excellence across all retail locations. The ideal candidate is an extrovert with exceptional communication and leadership skills, able to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively with regional and global teams. The Retail Director will be required to travel frequently (over 60%) to ensure the brand's standards are maintained across the regions and to build strong relationships with local partners, teams, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the retail operations for South East Asia and Australia, overseeing key markets and ensuring brand consistency, profitability, and high customer satisfaction across all stores.
- Develop and implement strategic retail initiatives aligned with the brand's goals, including sales targets, marketing plans, visual merchandising, and customer engagement strategies.
- Drive growth and profitability through strong leadership, innovative strategies, and by optimizing the store network.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including local business partners, landlords, and external agencies, to support the growth and success of the brand.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire the retail teams to deliver exceptional customer service and meet business objectives, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of retail staff to ensure alignment with the brand's values and high standards of customer experience.
- Collaborate with the President of Asia and other senior leaders to ensure alignment between retail operations and broader company objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Regularly report on sales performance, KPIs, and regional market insights to the President of Asia and other senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in retail management in luxury fashion industry.
- Proven track record of leading retail operations across multiple markets within South East Asia and Australia.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing diverse teams and driving results.
- Passionate, extroverted, and personable with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High level of business acumen, with a focus on customer experience, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
- Experience in strategic planning, P&L management, and budgeting.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other Asian languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently (more than 60%) across South East Asia and Australia.
- A strong understanding of luxury fashion, brand positioning, and trends in the retail sector.
