About the Role:
This is a high-impact 9-month contract where you'll play a key role in delivering assurance and governance projects within a leading financial services organisation. You'll be working closely with senior stakeholders to enhance Line 1 governance frameworks, drive key initiatives, and ensure regulatory and risk compliance across the business.
Your Responsibillities:
- Leading assurance and governance projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal risk requirements
- Establish best-practice governance processes that strengthen risk ownership within Line 1
- Move beyond traditional control testing to a strategic risk-based approach
- Enhancing and embedding Line 1 governance practices across the business
- Conducting risk assessments, control testing, and assurance reviews to strengthen the organisation's risk posture
- Define and implement what good monitoring should look like for risk and assurance
- Work closely with senior executives to align governance and assurance with business objectives
- Acting as a trusted advisor, ensuring best practice governance while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
About You:
- Extensive experience in risk, governance, and assurance within insurance or financial services
- Big 4 background or equivalent experience in a top-tier FS organisation
- Proven ability to execute risk management strategies within a Line 1 governance function
- Experience with a 1.5 Line model, focusing on oversight, monitoring, and execution
- Strategic thinker - someone who can shape the governance approach, not just test controls
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior leaders
