Credit Controller

My client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing credit control operations, ensuring the timely collection of payments, minimising credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based on site in the office on the West side of Cork.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage credit control processes in line with company policies and procedures.
• Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis, credit checks, and payment history review.
• Establish and maintain appropriate credit terms and accurate customer credit files.
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure prompt payments and address overdue balances or discrepancies efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with customers to negotiate payment plans, resolve billing queries, and manage credit-related concerns.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce late or non-payments and improve overall cash flow.
• Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable, collections activity, and credit risk exposure.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales and Finance, to manage risk and maintain low days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Process customer invoices and credit notes accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and stay informed on best practices in credit control and accounts receivable management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Credit Control role.
• Experience within a commercial, manufacturing, or service-based environment preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting or ERP systems.
