Job Purpose:
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities within our wooden pallet manufacturing facility. This includes the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of materials, finished products, and equipment to meet production and customer requirements. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team to maintain high standards of safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:

Loading and Unloading:
- Load and unload materials, supplies, and finished pallets from vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and report any issues to the supervisor.

Material Handling & Storage:
- Organize, move, and store raw materials and finished products in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage practices to maintain warehouse safety and efficiency.

Order Picking & Dispatch:
- Prepare orders for dispatch according to daily schedules, ensuring pallets meet quality and quantity specifications.
- Package, label, and document orders accurately for customer delivery.

Inventory Management:
- Assist in stock counts and inventory management, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Report stock shortages or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Quality Control:
- Inspect products for quality assurance before dispatch, following company quality standards.
- Identify and set aside any damaged or defective pallets for repair or disposal.

Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate PPE and following safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace, and contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards.

Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment responsibly and perform daily checks to ensure their safe operation.
- Report any equipment issues or malfunctions promptly.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely fulfillment of orders.
- Communicate any issues or delays to relevant departments and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics role preferred.
- Forklift License: Valid forklift license required or willingness to obtain one.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit, as this role involves lifting, loading, and carrying heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly in quality control and inventory management.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of warehouse health and safety regulations and practices.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Warehouse Software: Experience with warehouse management software or inventory systems is an advantage.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with wooden pallet manufacturing processes is beneficial.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
