Position Overview
We are expanding our Financial Services Technology Consulting practice in Dublin and are seeking an experienced Data Architect at the Manager level. In this client-facing role, you will lead data-driven transformation initiatives for major institutions within Banking, Insurance, and Wealth & Asset Management.
You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, designing modern data architectures that enable advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI capabilities for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Partner with client business and IT stakeholders to translate complex financial business needs into scalable data architecture blueprints and comprehensive solution design documents (including effort and cost estimations).
- Technical Delivery & Leadership: Act as a hands-on technical subject matter expert during project delivery. Lead technology consulting engagements, architecture workshops, and due diligence assessments.
- Practice & Team Development: Shape, mentor, and manage engagement teams. Proactively coach and develop junior architects and data engineers to build internal capability.
- Client & Business Management: Manage executive-level client expectations, deliver progress milestones, and assist with business development activities, including crafting proposals and client presentations.
- Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of emerging data, cloud, and AI trends, contributing to internal practice pillars, white papers, and proof-of-concept developments.
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience within a premier management or technology consulting firm.
- At least 3+ years in a dedicated Data Architect role with direct client-facing and market-facing responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading data workstreams, data teams, or medium-to-large data projects end-to-end.
- Financial Services Expertise: Deep knowledge of end-to-end finance data landscapes (source systems, accounting engines, sub-ledgers, data integration layers, and regulatory reporting platforms) within Banking or Insurance.
- Technical Breadth: Strong background in Enterprise Data Warehouse integration, data governance frameworks, and data modeling (defining principles for finance data entities and attributes).
- Experience working with legacy financial data models/vendor packages (e.g., Teradata, IBM) alongside modern cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and senior-level stakeholder management skills.
Highly Desirable:
- Prior background in systems integration.
- Experience developing long-term Finance Data Strategies and future-state architectures for large financial institutions.
- Hands-on delivery experience with Big Data and Apache ecosystem technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hive, etc.) and building cloud or on-premise data pipelines.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Agile, PMP, Prince2, ITIL).
