Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's industry-leading Electrical Engineering team at their Clondalkin headquarters. You will collaborate with stakeholders to lead in the design of electrical switchgear assemblies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the design of low-voltage switchgear products and should be proficient in AutoCAD. Experience with other design software is an advantage.
Enjoy a balanced workweek with an average of 37 hours per week. Hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with an early finish on most Fridays at 1:00 PM when on track. Best of all, there's no deduction to your salary for the shortened Friday hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: Participate in all aspects of the electrical design process for switchgear control units, from concept to completion. Prepare engineering studies, schematic designs, and ensure all designs meet company and national standards. This includes creating 3-phase schematics based on client specifications, using AutoCAD, and developing Bills of Material.
- You will manage various projects from inception to completion, overseeing the design process or providing technical expertise on specialized projects. This role involves managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring seamless project delivery and maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Request for Quote and Project Planning: Manage client requests for quotes within designated limits, gathering technical submittals (e.g., drawings, test certificates, compliance) for larger projects. Coordinate pricing, and if approved, oversee procurement in conjunction with relevant departments. Liaise with and manage production to ensure the handover of client specifications and drawings.
- Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle as the point of contact, including scope management, design approval, and ensuring timely deliveries. Coordinate with production teams to manage scope changes, project milestones, and client expectations. Attend vendor meetings and manage outsourced services (e.g., 3D/BIM modeling).
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, handling technical inquiries, project updates, and ensuring smooth handovers. Prepare for and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), supporting clients with test documentation and guidance through the FAT process.
- Documentation and Compliance: Manage and submit all necessary documentation throughout the project, including as-built drawings, test certificates, warranty information, and final handover documents (H2C). Ensure proper handover documentation and O+M Manuals are uploaded to client systems on completion of each phase/project.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 2 years of post-graduate experience preferred but not essential
- Experience in producing drawings, calculations, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards
- Effective time management skills to meet tight project deadlines
