We are working with a fantastic state body to recruit an experienced ICT Security & Networks Administrator on a permanent basis!
You will contribute to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and high availability of data and services in a hybrid network environment. This role involves working closely with the ICT Cyber Security & Networks team to maintain a secure and efficient network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
The ICT Security & Networks Administrator will be responsible for:
- Supporting the installation, configuration, and management of networking and data communication infrastructure across on-premise and managed cloud environments.
- Managing ICT security technologies with a focus on network security, monitoring, and responding to security alerts and suspicious activities.
- Staying updated on the latest security and network trends, risks, and innovations to ensure the organization's systems remain secure and resilient.
Specific duties include:
- Installing and maintaining wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network security elements.
- Monitoring and ensuring the reliability and security of network nodes and communication systems.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting network security issues across various technologies.
- Responding to security system alerts and supporting system auditing and vulnerability management activities.
- Evaluating the security of new products and services in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Participating in a scheduled on-call support rotation for ICT operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computing, Engineering, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Certification in recognized network and security disciplines.
Preferred (an advantage):
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet, Checkpoint CCSA, Palo Alto.
- Microsoft certifications in networking, security, or cloud.
Experience
Required:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in network administration within a medium-sized organization.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, DMZ, VPN, and DNS technologies and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with network configuration management and security solutions, including technologies from Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments and cloud-based security best practices.
- Proficiency with security tools such as web and email content filters, IPS, SIEM, and NDR solutions.
Desirable:
- Experience with Access and Identity Management and Privileged Access Management solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Networks, Firewall, and Security Centre.
