Quantity Surveyor - Conservation & Restoration Projects

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Dublin, specialising in conservation and restoration projects. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the costs, contracts, and financial aspects of a wide variety of historic building restoration and conservation works. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation & Budget Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates for conservation and restoration projects, ensuring compliance with budgets and client expectations.
- Tendering & Contract Management: Lead tender processes, including preparation of tender documents, analysis of bids, and recommending contractors. Manage contracts through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Value Engineering: Identify and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising the integrity of the conservation and restoration work.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting: Track project costs, progress, and identify potential risks. Provide regular financial and progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with architects, engineers, heritage consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to relevant conservation guidelines, building regulations, and environmental sustainability principles.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, particularly on conservation, restoration, or heritage projects.
- Strong understanding of conservation principles, materials, and methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law and procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software for cost management (e.g., CostX, BCIS, or similar).
