Our client is seeking Museum Security Officers (MSOs) to join their Operations Department on a temporary basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a world-class cultural environment while ensuring the safety and security of the Gallery's visitors, staff, and collections.
The Role
As a Museum Security Officer, you will provide a visible and reassuring presence throughout the Gallery's public spaces and exhibition areas. You'll play a key role in maintaining security, responding to incidents, and contributing to a welcoming and positive visitor experience.
Reporting to the Security Supervisor (or nominated deputy), your key responsibilities will include:

Providing front-of-house security and surveillance across the Gallery

Monitoring and reporting any security, safety, or fire incidents, and completing relevant documentation

Assisting with investigations relating to loss or damage

Supporting the implementation of the Gallery's Security and Safety Management Plan

Offering helpful and courteous information to visitors about exhibitions, events, and facilities

Adhering to all Gallery policies, procedures, and instructions

Carrying out other duties as required by the Security Supervisor
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of professionalism, vigilance, and a genuine commitment to excellent visitor service.
Essential Experience & Skills:

At least 1 year's experience in a customer service, front-of-house, or security role

Experience using security, safety, and fire equipment

Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations

A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:

Relevant qualification in Security or related field

Experience in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions

Ability to speak additional languages
-
Commitment to ongoing professional training and development
