Our client is recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their organisation based in Dublin City Centre. This role offers a hybrid working structure.
Role:
The Financial Accountant - Ticketing will play a key role within the Finance Team, supporting daily
operations, managing working capital, handling reconciliations, and contributing to the preparation
of monthly management accounts. With the Transport Technology Finance Team embarking on new
schemes and projects, this role offers an exciting opportunity to help streamline processes and drive
improvements. The individual will ensure efficient fund management, reconcile income streams, and
transition from manual to systemised processes, while fostering a professional, collaborative
environment within the finance team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager - Ticketing Operations, the Financial Accountant
shall undertake tasks including but not limited to those listed below to the highest standards:
1. Treasury & Working Capital Management:
- Oversee the daily banking operations of the business, ensuring all funds are processed
efficiently and accurately;
- Manage payments to Scheme Participants (Transport Operators) by preparing and
executing all banking transactions efficiently;
- Facilitate the direct debit collection of customer refunds, ensuring that all transactions
are processed promptly and accurately;
- Support daily working capital management, ensuring liquidity and efficient cash flow
management; and
- Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving treasury operations, leveraging
technology to automate and streamline processes.
2. Month-End Reconciliations:
- Complete month-end reconciliations for multiple income channels, investigating and
resolving any variances;
- Prepare and review balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring alignment
with business units and stakeholders;
- Contribute to the transition from manual reconciliation processes to a more systemised
solution, driving efficiency and accuracy;
- Collaborate with Finance Managers and other teams to ensure reconciliation processes
are standardised and aligned across the business; and
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs,
providing variance analysis and insights to support decision-making.
3. Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly KPI reports to management, ensuring key financial metrics
are monitored;
- Maintain high-quality, up-to-date procedure documents for areas of responsibility;
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and
reporting expertise;
- Support interim and year-end audit processes and liaise with auditors as needed; and
- Cultivate a positive working environment by ensuring professional and courteous
interactions with all stakeholders.
4. Other Responsibilities:
- Support system development and upgrades within the finance function;
- Assist with process improvements and the development of finance controls;
- Contribute to the development of internal finance portals and business partnering
reporting;
- Support the implementation and enhancement of business analysis and reporting; and
- Carry out other ad-hoc duties as required.
Note: The functions and responsibilities initially assigned to the position are based on the current
organisational requirements and may be changed from time to time. The person appointed requires
the flexibility to fulfil other roles and responsibilities at a similar level within the Authority.

Requirements for the Role
- A proactive and driven nearly qualified accountant who is close to completing their
professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong attention to detail is essential;
- Experience on the preparation of management accounts, reconciliations and annual financial
statements;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and as leader of a group; and
- Experience working with multiple financial applications and systems is desirable.
