Morgan McKinley are partnering with a leading State Body to recruit a Senior Internal Communications Manager on a Permanent Basis!
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Senior Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing an Internal Communications Strategy. This role will play a key part in managing change communications, employee-focused projects, and strategic initiatives, with a focus on enhancing overall employee communications and colleague experience.
Supporting both the People Strategy and Corporate Strategy this position will help shape organisational culture, driving engagement and impactful communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive internal communication strategies.
- Manage and guide the Internal Communications team.
- Provide internal communications expertise and guidance to senior management.
- Oversee content creation for major organisational events; e.g. Townhalls/ Annual Reports
- Track and analyse the effectiveness of internal communication channels and initiatives; incorporate feedback and adjust strategies as needed.
- Lead communication efforts during crisis situations to protect organisational reputation.
- Manage and procure internal communication platforms, channels, and technology.
- Oversee change communications related to People Function projects and other significant initiatives.
- Collaborate with People Function teams to optimise employee experience.
- Align internal messaging with external communications.
- Develop and manage the budget for Internal Communications.
- Lead and execute ad hoc projects as assigned by the Chief People Officer.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Advanced experience or education in internal communications and/or change management.
- 8+ years of experience in internal/employee communications.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Analytical skills to measure and report on communication impact.
- Background in inclusive language or inclusive communications is an asset.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Creativity and strategic thinking, especially with a digital-first approach.
- Attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Experience in the public sector or financial services industry is preferred.
