A leading financial services provider based in Kerry is seeking an Underwriting Manager to head their credit assessment function. This is hire will be responsible for ensuring high-quality lending decisions while driving team performance and business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of underwriters to meet KPIs and maintain a risk-aware culture.

Credit Oversight: Approve complex/high-value applications and ensure all decisions align with company risk appetite and lending criteria.

Policy & Risk: Enhance underwriting frameworks, monitor portfolio trends, and collaborate with Risk/Compliance to refine credit policies.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to Central Bank regulations, consumer protection codes, and internal governance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a senior point of contact for brokers, dealers, and internal departments (Sales/Operations).

Reporting: Deliver performance insights and MI to senior management and Risk Committees.
Requirements

Experience: 5+ years in Underwriting or Credit Risk within Financial Services.

Leadership: Ideally 3+ years in a management or team lead capacity.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of credit risk frameworks and the Irish regulatory landscape (Central Bank).

Skills: Exceptional analytical decision-making, stakeholder management, and policy development experience.
