A well-established transport company based in Ashbourne, Meath, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced transport environment while working closely with the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities
- Monitor customer billing reports and highlight variances.
- Assist in preparing VAT reclaims on purchases in other EU countries.
- Support excise duty reclaims on fuel purchases.
- Assist with weekly payroll preparation.
- Monitor European fuel purchases and update drivers on pricing.
- Assist in completing CSO returns.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Reconcile shipping invoices with the transport management system.
- Perform general office duties and provide administrative support to the transport and accounts teams.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage tasks efficiently.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- No prior experience required - full training provided.
